When we signed up for Minefaire, we weren't really sure what to expect. We knew it would be a good opportunity to show off How I Roll and get some feedback. We were hopeful we might even get a few people to join the TestFlight beta. My mom was kind enough to send us her old iPad all the way from Ohio! It's pretty ancient (2nd generation), and it can't install the latest version of iOS... or even iOS 10 for that matter. But that makes it perfect for gathering beta signups! Thanks, Mom! But as soon as the event began, we were totally overwhelmed. Kids and parents were crowding around our table. The three test phones we had out were all in use, a line was forming, and parents started pointing at the iPad and asking if they could use it to play the game. Whoooah!
I was pretty sure our game was too demanding to run on such an old device, but I decided to give it a shot just in case. I lowered the deployment target and loaded it up. To my surprise, the game launched! It didn't exactly run smoothly, but kids didn't seem to mind too much. Of course, that left us with no device for taking beta signups. We had to resort to good old fashioned pencil and paper. Minefaire wrapped up on Sunday evening, and it's taken me until today (Wednesday) to finish typing in the pages of signups we collected. Wow! Thank you so much everybody, and I sincerely apologize if I mistyped your name! If I missed you, or if you'd like to sign up now, you can use the form on the games page! I'll send you an invite on TestFlight as soon as I can! -Aaron
